Martina Melilli

Martina Melilli is a lecturer in Creative Writing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Siracusa MADE Program.

Martina Melilli is an artist, filmmaker, and cultural programmer. Her films have been selected for various national and international festivals, and her works have been exhibited and screened at venues such as Palazzo Strozzi (Florence), PAC Milan, Museo del Novecento (Milan), and MART (Rovereto). She won the 2017 edition of Artevisione with her film MUM, I’M SORRY, which was subsequently acquired by the Museo del Novecento (Milan). My Home, in Libya is her first feature-length creative documentary, produced by Stefilm International, ZDF/ARTE, RAI Cinema, with the support of MiBACT, which also recognized it as being of cultural interest, and Premio Solinas. The film premiered at the Locarno Film Festival in 2018 and was subsequently featured in numerous (inter)national festivals, receiving awards and special mentions. Between 2019 and 2020, she collaborated with Playboy Italia on the project CORPO A CORPO | Bodily Conversations. In 2020, she was a finalist for the Francesco Fabbri Foundation Emerging Art Prize. In 2022, she was selected for Berlinale Talents.
