NEW AUTARCHY
The “New Autarchy” project is a study of the local community culture in relation to global dynamics and issues. The final goal is to hypothesize a redesign of the lifestyle of the island of Ortigia and its inhabitants to favor greater coherence with its local and global context.
The choice of the name “New Autarchy” expresses the intention of promoting a new autonomous economy – autoarchy – but conceiving it for a new, geologically changed, world, where specific experiences [and therefore cultural heritage] becomes the new domestic currency.
