DECIPHER THE MOVEMENT
The project is the translation, in a language of knots and stringing that takes into account the variable of distance (in km) and the means of transport (ship, train and plane), of the migratory path of Ajithan Polwatta Geeganage, who came to Sicily from Sri Lanka . The route was then recoded in a loom, with the aim of producing a shawl, divided into three parts - each corresponding to the means of transport used - which would make the information gathered using the Sicilian parade technique visible. The width of each part is given by the proportion with respect to the kilometers travelled.
NEW NOMADISM FOR THE MARGINAL ANTHROPOCENE
“At the conclusion of this moment of research, I begin to consider my condition as marginal with respect to the changes that are happening globally. And so I feel the need to make this quality of the present explicit. So I design an inflatable and an activity to be carried out inside to usher in the marginal Anthropocene.”
