CIRCLE PALM TAPESTRY
Sicilian palms have ancient origins and are part of an intricate symbolic universe. In the past they were used to make religious symbols and utensils. Today many of the traditional uses connected to the preparation of palms have largely disappeared or been transformed.
The “Circle Palm Tapestry” project aims to use palms as a resource in rethinking design practices and protecting the environment while stimulating creativity through three different interweavings of the circular form, transformed in scale and use, whoch, associated with gestures and experiences, create a transitory symbol of creative human power.
