Carlo Alberto Giardina teaches Illustration and Mural Painting in the Visual Arts course at the MADE Program.
Carlo Alberto Giardina is an illustrator, muralist, and artistic director from Syracuse, born in 1990. His aim is to reveal the archaic connection between humans and nature by creating works that make the viewer feel engaged and aware of the natural environment in which they live. He graduated in Political and Social Communication Sciences at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, and he got his specialization in Communication Design at NABA - New Academy of Fine Arts, Milan. He also attended a five-month painting course at the Academy of Fine Arts "Belas Artes" in Lisbon.
He has worked with various clients, including Google, Boston Consulting Group, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Gambero Rosso Magazine, Mercure Hotels, and Mondadori. He has created murals for the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, Mercure Hotels, and he took part in different mural art festivals in Italy and the United States. He actively collaborates as an illustrator with Gambero Rosso and as an artistic director for urban art projects with the Orvieto Cinema Fest.
Recently, he has been organizing Mimèsi Fest, a sustainable Street Art festival dedicated to the city of Syracuse and the care of its territory.
