The thesis project starts from the study of glass, a material composed of silica, sodium carbonate and calcium carbonates. Its composition means that it is always and in any case recyclable an infinite number of times, making it an essential material for an economy with reduced environmental impact. Thanks to technological progress, which allows glass to take on different shapes and colors, it has become one of the most popular materials in furniture. The paper proposes an exploration of some glass-working techniques, starting from its ex novo manufacture, and continuing with the cutting and fusing techniques.

Aesthetic canons define a universal beauty which, though unattainable, has always been considered a goal. The advent of social networks has helped to accelerate the spread and obsessive application of contemporary beauty standards , now no longer out of reach. The idols are no longer those who are born "fortunately" beautiful, but those who apply a clearly artificial aesthetic. Default analyzes the evolution of internet culture in relation to the image of the human body and how its photographic representation can change its real perception, reaching the point of wanting to be represented with aesthetic canons dictated by visual regimes aimed at being used on social media.
