CAVUM

CAVUM comes out of a reflection on the current scarcity of mineral resources and the urgent environmental situation and proposes a collection of five plates of different forms and colors, made from waste materials such as dust and mud from Sicilian marble and stone working. By way of a formal synthesis, each plate tells of one step in the life cycle of the treated material: primoridial stratification, extraction, alteration, and accumulation. Thanks to the collaboration of Chef Vito Scuderi, this collection has been combined with an ad hoc menu tied to the Sicilian territory, creating a tangible nexus between food, stone, and plate.
