Notebook
The thesis research aims to highlight and celebrate an ancient art that still exists today: embroidery. Unfortunately, it is often confined to stereotypes and clichés. For centuries, embroidery has told the stories of people, kings, and wars, giving identity and purpose to the lives of those who had little. Even today, embroidery can serve as a tool of communication, allowing us to discover hidden skills, rediscover the beauty of doing things slowly, and embrace a ritualistic gesture that brings peace to the soul.
“Notebook” presents itself as a series of small fabric books designed to record, sample, and remember events, news, and trends that continuously change in a constantly evolving society. Choosing embroidery as the medium gives the final work added value, breaking away from the frenzy of contemporary life.
