Alessio D’Ellena conducted a workshop on type design for the Graphic Design module in the Visual Arts undergraduate program at MADE Program.
Alessio D’Ellena (b. 1985) is a type and graphic designer, researcher, and lecturer. He explores the processes of typeface design—and design itself—as a non-dogmatic practice: involving the distortion of forms, stretching of concepts, bending of rules, and unconventional use of tools. His work examines typography as a relationship between a system of variables and the digital medium. Since 2017, he has also worked under the name SUPERNESS, a digital type foundry that is constantly evolving.
