THE ANCIENT TRADITION OF THE PRINTED FOULARD

LOTTOZERO
Textile designers

OBJECTIVES

Silkscreen printing is the most valuable printing technique in the textile industry. Still today the most important fashion houses use this semi-artisanal process to print refined clothing and accessories, first of all the foulard. The workshop offers the possibility to delve into this fascinating process and follow step by step all the phases of printing a four-color foulard.
After a brief introduction on silkscreen printing and a practical demonstration of this technique, everyone will be able to try their hand at printing their own scarf on silk. The original paintings of the Como silk factories will be used, with the classic motifs that have made the prints of this accessory unique and identifiable for brands such as Hermes, Etro, Ferragamo.
Each participant will be able to experience working on a professional printing table with large format printing frames, using the acid dyes used in the textile industry, which unlike inks leave the fabric soft and imperceptible to the touch.
Finally, participants will be able to watch and try their hand at professional steaming, an indispensable operation for fixing the color, and finish their own foulard with a machine hem in Lottozero’s workshop.
