SHELL'S SHADES
An experimental thesis that aims to transform the waste of mussels and oysters from food waste to a resource suitable for reuse in the construction and design sectors. Exploiting the potential of calcium carbonate as an aggregator in construction materials, it is possible to create mixtures of white and gray cement with aggregates and mussel and oyster powders, obtaining resistant compounds with interesting aesthetic variations.
FLAVORS OF OTHER TIMES
Sicilian ceramics are material artifacts that tell the story of the territory in a form of expression capable of bringing back the flavors and smells of the ancient traditions of Sicilian cuisine. Such is the case of these terracotta pots that recall the forms formerly used for cooking recipes that still speak to us today of ancient popular traditions. Sapori d'altri tempi (Tastes of Former Times) brings to light three ancient recipes: the Cuccia di Santa Lucia from Syracuse, Aragona’s Tianu from Agrigento and Couscous from Trapani.
